Across TCGA patient cohorts, RTL8A protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 2,656 significant associations in total. BRCA shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible RTL8A-associated genes across cancer lineages are CCDC160, NFKB1, and CDKAL1. Each is linked with RTL8A in more than 1 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both RTL8A-to-partner and partner-to-RTL8A results are reported.
