Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPS26P54 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPS26P54’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where RPS26P54 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPS26P54 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KICH, KIRP, and COAD are the cancer types where RPS26P54 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
