Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPS17P5 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPS17P5’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where RPS17P5 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPS17P5 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, BRCA, and PRAD are the cancer types where RPS17P5 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
