Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL9P31 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL9P31’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in rectum adenocarcinoma (READ), where RPL9P31 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL9P31 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as READ and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
READ, LIHC, and HNSC are the cancer types where RPL9P31 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
