Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL7P49 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL7P49’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where RPL7P49 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL7P49 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as PAAD and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

HNSC, PAAD, and BLCA are the cancer types where RPL7P49 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
