Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL7AP28 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL7AP28’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where RPL7AP28 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL7AP28 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, UCEC, and STAD are the cancer types where RPL7AP28 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
