Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL34P22 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL34P22’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where RPL34P22 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL34P22 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and LIHC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BRCA, UCEC, and READ are the cancer types where RPL34P22 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
