Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL31P16 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL31P16’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where RPL31P16 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL31P16 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, LUAD, and COAD are the cancer types where RPL31P16 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
