Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL29P12 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL29P12’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where RPL29P12 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL29P12 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as STAD and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, KIRP, and LIHC are the cancer types where RPL29P12 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
