Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL23P4 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL23P4’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where RPL23P4 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL23P4 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
STAD, PRAD, and THCA are the cancer types where RPL23P4 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
