Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL23AP38 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL23AP38’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where RPL23AP38 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL23AP38 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, PAAD, and COAD are the cancer types where RPL23AP38 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
