Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL22P14 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL22P14’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where RPL22P14 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL22P14 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, LUAD, and KIRC are the cancer types where RPL22P14 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
