Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL21P66 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL21P66’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), where RPL21P66 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL21P66 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

ESCA, BLCA, and THCA are the cancer types where RPL21P66 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
