Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL18A mass-spec protein differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL18A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where RPL18A mass-spec protein is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL18A is over-expressed in tumor.

CCRCC, COAD, and LUAD are the cancer types where RPL18A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
