Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL17P40 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL17P40’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where RPL17P40 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL17P40 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
UCEC, THCA, and COAD are the cancer types where RPL17P40 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
