Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL17P13 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL17P13’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where RPL17P13 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL17P13 is over-expressed in tumor.

THCA are the cancer types where RPL17P13 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
