Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-80P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-80P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where RNU6-80P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-80P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, STAD, and HNSC are the cancer types where RNU6-80P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
