Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-800P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-800P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where RNU6-800P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-800P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, STAD, and BLCA are the cancer types where RNU6-800P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
