Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-686P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-686P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where RNU6-686P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-686P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD and THCA are the cancer types where RNU6-686P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
