Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-606P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-606P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where RNU6-606P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-606P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUSC, THCA, and KICH are the cancer types where RNU6-606P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
