Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-36P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-36P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where RNU6-36P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-36P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, KIRC, and THCA are the cancer types where RNU6-36P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
