Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-25P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-25P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where RNU6-25P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-25P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUSC, COAD, and BRCA are the cancer types where RNU6-25P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
