Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU4-9P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU4-9P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where RNU4-9P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU4-9P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BRCA, LUSC, and KIRC are the cancer types where RNU4-9P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
