Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU4-50P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU4-50P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where RNU4-50P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU4-50P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, COAD, and LUAD are the cancer types where RNU4-50P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
