Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU2-38P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU2-38P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where RNU2-38P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU2-38P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BRCA, KIRC, and COAD are the cancer types where RNU2-38P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
