Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU2-33P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU2-33P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where RNU2-33P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU2-33P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, UCEC, and COAD are the cancer types where RNU2-33P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
