Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU1-96P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU1-96P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD), where RNU1-96P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU1-96P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as PRAD and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
PRAD and THCA are the cancer types where RNU1-96P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
