Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNF214 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNF214’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where RNF214 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNF214 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, COAD, and HNSC are the cancer types where RNF214 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
