Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNA5SP44 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNA5SP44’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where RNA5SP44 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNA5SP44 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, BRCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where RNA5SP44 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
