Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RD3L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RD3L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where RD3L RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RD3L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LIHC and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, COAD, and BLCA are the cancer types where RD3L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
