Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RANBP17 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RANBP17’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where RANBP17 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RANBP17 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

STAD, COAD, and UCEC are the cancer types where RANBP17 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
