Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RAET1E RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RAET1E’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where RAET1E RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RAET1E is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, HNSC, and KIRC are the cancer types where RAET1E tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
