Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RAD51C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RAD51C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where RAD51C RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RAD51C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, LIHC, and COAD are the cancer types where RAD51C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
