Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RAB9A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RAB9A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where RAB9A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RAB9A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, THCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where RAB9A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
