Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RAB5A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RAB5A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where RAB5A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RAB5A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, KIRC, and THCA are the cancer types where RAB5A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
