Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RAB4A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RAB4A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where RAB4A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RAB4A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, KIRC, and KICH are the cancer types where RAB4A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
