Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RAB3A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RAB3A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where RAB3A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RAB3A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and READ show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, LIHC, and KICH are the cancer types where RAB3A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
