Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RAB27A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RAB27A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where RAB27A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RAB27A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, COAD, and LUSC are the cancer types where RAB27A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
