Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PTPN23 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PTPN23’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where PTPN23 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PTPN23 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, LIHC, and STAD are the cancer types where PTPN23 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
