Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PRSS48 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PRSS48’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where PRSS48 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PRSS48 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, LUAD, and LUSC are the cancer types where PRSS48 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
