Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PRR14L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PRR14L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where PRR14L RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PRR14L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, HNSC, and LIHC are the cancer types where PRR14L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
