Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PRPF38B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PRPF38B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where PRPF38B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PRPF38B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
STAD, THCA, and LIHC are the cancer types where PRPF38B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
