Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PRMT8 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PRMT8 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where higher PRMT8 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PRMT8 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
LIHC, LUAD, and PAAD are the cancer types where PRMT8 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
