Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PREP Mutation is linked to patient survival in 6 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PREP data layer compared with 28 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher PREP Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PREP expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
SKCM, OV, and BLCA are the cancer types where PREP Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
