Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PPP1R9A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PPP1R9A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where PPP1R9A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PPP1R9A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, LUSC, and HNSC are the cancer types where PPP1R9A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
