Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PPP1R16B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PPP1R16B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where PPP1R16B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PPP1R16B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP, COAD, and THCA are the cancer types where PPP1R16B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
