Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PPM1A mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PPM1A data layer compared with 20 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher PPM1A mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PPM1A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and GBM show a favorable association.
CCRCC, HNSC, and LUAD are the cancer types where PPM1A mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
