Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PPARGC1B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PPARGC1B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where PPARGC1B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PPARGC1B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, KIRC, and LUAD are the cancer types where PPARGC1B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
