Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PPARG RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PPARG’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where PPARG RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PPARG is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, HNSC, and COAD are the cancer types where PPARG tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
