Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, POU4F2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of POU4F2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where POU4F2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types POU4F2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as PRAD and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, PRAD, and COAD are the cancer types where POU4F2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
